How to Create a Fluxer Community from Scratch
Starting a new community on Fluxer is quick. Here's how to go from zero to ready for members.
Creating the Community
Click the + button in the left sidebar of the Fluxer app and select Create a Community. You'll be asked for a name and an optional icon. Fill those in and hit Create.
That's all there is to it. You're now the owner of a fresh community with full permissions.
Adding Channels
You start with a single text channel. To add more, right-click in the channel sidebar to create text channels, voice channels, or categories to group them. Drag channels around to rearrange them.
Most communities have a few topic channels (like #general and #off-topic)
plus a voice channel or two. Structure it around what your group actually talks
about.
Sending Invites
Click the Invite button at the top of any channel to generate a link you can share. You can control how long the link lasts and how many times it can be used. Set it to never expire if you want a permanent public link.
Share it wherever your people are: group chats, social media, forums, or just text it to a friend.
Customizing Your Community
With the basics in place, a few things are worth setting up early:
- A description in Community Settings > Overview helps people understand what your community is about before they join.
- Roles in Community Settings > Roles let you give moderators and trusted members specific permissions.
- Bots can handle moderation, run games, play music, and more. Check out the fluxer.lol bot directory to see what's available.
Getting Listed
You can list your community on the fluxer.lol directory to help new members find you.
- Sign in to fluxer.lol with your Fluxer account.
- Open your dashboard and click Add Community.
- Paste an invite link. Your community's name, icon, and details get pulled in automatically.
- Tag your community by topic so it shows up in the right searches.
- Submit your listing.
fluxer.lol keeps your listing in sync with your community, so the info stays current without any extra work on your end.
